Consider the number of visits for those 118,000 and 61,400 who have not moved on.

And that has tipped the city into crisis for LEGAL residents.

So, some tens of thousands, maybe 118,000 at the peak has resulted in “The entire system is overwhelmed.” I am not sure how extensively researched the Hot Air article was, but you can read it all here:

NYC is begging for Federal money, though why it should be a special case needs to be tested.
For example, if 100,000 or so illegal immigrants place NY’ers to the back of the line for hospital treatments (and housing, jobs and suck up supplies for food and clothing, two points arise.
How much of the emergency supplies are being consumed or, conversely, need to be increased to cater for emergency needs of illegal immigrants

12 billion bucks for 100,000 illegal immigrants = 120,000 bucks each. Even more if the number remaining is “only” 61,400.
There are 7 million known illegal immigrants since the squatter in the White House and his cackler “border tsarina” have been in charge. That 7 million excludes “got-aways”/those not detected.
7 million times 120,000 = 840 billion dollars.
That’s right. Open borders has resulted in close to a TRILLION DOLLARS IN COSTS.
The burden on housing, jobs, hospitals, schools across the country is immense. Now factor in the cost of food and clothing plus education for the illegal immigrants and the stress on stocks of emergency supplies and a natural disaster is likely to cause a massive humanitarian crisis IN THE US.
For reference, Federal income tax will take in around 2.3 trillion dollars this year.

The open border policy of the Democratic Party, colluding with crime cartels globally, to run rat-lines for human trafficking is intentional. It is designed to destroy any semblance of a civil society in the US, by making everyone poorer, sicker and stupid(er) m except for the illegal immigrants.
Lowest common denominator is being actively pursued. Led by those who are part of that lowest common denominator.
