A quick look at Moderna’s Profit and Pricing of C19 shots - (hike to 130 bucks a shot on the way)
Back on 2 February 2023, I posted this:
In that article was this table:
The doses ordered went up to July 2022.
Of interest, check this SubStack post out:
Moderna pays $400 million in royalties to former Fauci led agency (substack.com)
“Can you have a guess as to who was the boss at NIAID up until last year? Of course it was none other than Dr. Fauci”
“Moderna has so far sold about $36 BILLION worth of their covid mRNA vaccines. That is a lot of money.Turns out that the reason Moderna is paying these royalties is because they borrowed a technique from government-funded research to MODIFY the spike protein mRNA code used in the vaccines.”
For the US, the split between doses administered is maintained at a strict 60% Pfizer to 40% Moderna ratio.
So, the price being attacked of $130 per dose is actually a seven fold increase over all types of dose and an eight and a half fold increase over the first 100 million doses, ordered FOUR MONTHS BEFORE EUA was granted to Moderna on 18 December 2020.
Okay, let’s check out some financials on Moderna.
Selected extracts from here:
MRNA | Moderna Inc. Annual Income Statement - WSJ
I will leave those with access to the detailed financials to check out the source of almost 900 million bucks of “Deferred Domestic Income Tax”.
For the two calendar years covering the roll-out of its toxic C19 mRNA injections, Moderna had sales of 37.5 billion bucks that cost it 8.6 billion bucks to make – leaving gross margin of around 29 billion bucks.
Moderna spent 7 billion on R&D over five years – 6 billion over the last 3 calendar years.
Moderna paid taxes of 3.1 billion over the last two years, negligible in prior years.
Last two calendar years, 29 billion in gross margin, 3.1 billion in taxes = tax rate of 10.5%.
20.6 billion in net margin with those 3.1 billion in taxes = tax rate of 15,0% Someone better tell Bernie “millionaires and billionaires” Sanders.
How many doses sold by Moderna over the last two years? I am guesstimating around 600 million globally for the last two complete calendar years.
If my guesstimate is correct, these 600 million doses cost 8.6 billion bucks to make. That is a cost of around 14 dollars each.
This is only half the story though. How much of the cost of goods/doses sold Is fixed and how much is variable?
My bet is that the marginal cost to produce each dose has at least halved over the last few years or so. My bet is that each dose costs around 5 bucks a pop.
I will leave you with a couple of charts.
The first is the number of the bivalent boosters sold by week for calendar year 2023 of which Moderna has a 40% market share:
And the second is a five year chart of Moderna’s share price:
Price going nowhere, volumes dried up – signs of a dead man walking in share market terms.

Knowing what we know now, anybody getting a C19 clot shot or a booster is a triggered moron
Well? With injection hesitancy increasing. How else can they gouge massive profits. Except by raising the price through & outta the roof.
