An early Easter (bunny) story – UK Bunny rights activists protest BBC coverage of neutered bunnies being moved from lockdown indoors to lockdown outdoors
Easter will happen in the UK starting on Good Friday, 9th April and ending on Bank Holiday Monday 12th April.
Of all the stories that could have been covered in the UK (like the UK supplying depleted uranium muniti9ons to Ukraine or the 100’s of thousands of excess deaths from Midazolam + morphine and C19 mRNA/viral vector injections) we have this from here:
“An episode (of “Sort Your Life Out” which aired on February 1 was met with 1,502 Ofcom complaints after a family of rabbits were moved from a large enclosure to an outside hutch with no exercise run attached.”
I wonder how many members of rabbit rescue organisation Save a Fluff or the Rabbit Welfare Association & Fund (RWAF) featured amongst those complaints.
Apparently, the neutering of the rabbits was the reason for the change from indoor to outdoor lockdown.
The RWAF stated “the rabbits should at least have 24/7 access to an exercise space which is protected from predators.”. “The charity warned confining rabbits is "restrictive and unkind" and can cause spinal deformities, obesity, overgrown nails and behavioural problems. They recommend a minimum enclosure size of 3m x 2m x 1m high, with 24/7 access. They say this could include a hutch-like shelter but "that should never be the sole accommodation".
Fat, psychotic rabbits with long nails from a few days of indoor v outdoor confinement?
A spokesman/woman/it for the BBC responded:
"The family’s pet rabbits usually live outside and were only living indoors for a short period of time after being neutered. They are therefore acclimatised to living in the garden. The rabbits have full access to a wide, enclosed garden to roam around in, with the hutch being a place to come and go as they please during the day, as well as a safe and secure space for them to sleep in at night."
The number of neutered Easter Bunnies impacted was not mentioned. Was it two? Six or 12? I have no idea.
But apparently:
“..the homing of rabbits in a hutch does not meet obligations under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, nor the Good Practice Codes for the welfare of Rabbits in England."
For some reason, I chuckled several times whilst reading the article. Of course I abhor inter-species cruelty of all kinds , but..
Onwards!

Thanks PH. Easter. I'm seriously considering marketing chocolate covered raisins as, Genuine, real Easter Bunny poop! Those folks with the gold foil wrapped Easter Bunnies definitely missing a trick with the faked poo bits!!!!
