Brits get busy! London mayor caught buying biased research from the college (Imperial) that caused the C19 panic over death estimates and also altering facts in a report to suit his politics
I will repost this in full from an email. It speaks for itself! ULEZ = Ultra Low Emission Zone, details here Ultra Low Emission Zone - Transport for London (tfl.gov.uk)
“If your vehicle doesn’t meet the ULEZ emissions standards and isn’t exempt, you need to pay a £12.50 daily charge to drive within the zone. This applies to:
Cars, motorcycles, vans and specialist vehicles (up to and including 3.5 tonnes) and minibuses (up to and including 5 tonnes)
If you commute and fall foul of ULEZ requirements, you will have to pay over 3,000 pounds a year.
Okay, here’s the email with action points plus a chance to meet with like minded people on 29 September 2023 in Central Hall, Westminster.
Many cities around the world will have similar regulations and fines being proposed fpr things like ULEZ and “15 minute cities”. Actions like the ones below can be adapted and applied.
CALL TO ACTION: New ULEZ scandals relevant to us all - please have your say today
Since Sunday, two separate stories in the Telegraph have revealed that Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan's office tried to get scientific reports that didn't support ULEZ / LEZ schemes altered in one case, and discredited in another (the latter by an Imperial College team paid almost £1m in public funds by the Mayor's office in two years).
These scandals appear to have exposed a pattern of attempted corruption of science to support a policy the Mayor's own 'consultation' showed most Londoners don't even want.
Needless to say, the corruption of science for political ends is very much a 'live issue' and something everyone in the UK should be concerned about!
So no matter where you are in the UK, please help us with a few quick actions TODAY:
HERE'S WHAT TO DO, PLEASE:
Action 1: Complain to the Mayor's Office at City Hall
Use the online form HERE -
Write a message in your own words if you can OR use our words below as a starting point (you can use the same words for all actions in this email):
The media revelations this week that the Mayor's office tried to get scientific reports that didn't support ULEZ / LEZ schemes altered in one case, and discredited in another (by an Imperial College team paid almost £1m in public funds by the Mayor's office in 2 years) - are absolutely beyond the pale.
ULEZ extension has always been undemocratic, unfair and unnecessary. On top of this we now have good evidence of what appears to be a pattern of attempted corruption of science to support a policy the Mayor's own 'consultation' showed most Londoners don't even want.
Given the enormous damage this scheme has already done, and will do, particularly to older and poorer people, in the circumstances a Mayor with any sense of honour would probably resign, along with his top team. Instead of doing this, Mr Khan actually has the cheek to revert to stale smears of critics, to which even fewer people are listening.
This is too much. ULEZ extension needs to stop immediately, and if the Mayor won't do it, central Government should step in and take it out of his hands.
Action 2: Complain to Transport for London
