From the “Here’s one to get you at it” files – lobbyists draft the content of bills - Congress staffers proof read and Congress and POTUS rubber stamp the content

A short piece with just a thought.

If thousands of pages of legislation are passed in omnibus spending bills by the House and Senate – and politicians are given four hours to read the bills – are the people drafting the legislation actually running the country?

Most representatives do not read the bills they vote on. The same is true for Executive Orders from the office of POTUS.

Congress gets a few hours to read and vote on thousands of pages of “Omnibus” bills and have done for decades. Staffers draft the Executive Orders, not Presidents or squatters in the White House.

So, lobbyists know this. Lobbyists submit the wording of the legislation that goes into bills that are passed into law.

Even those in Congress that quibble over the wording are simply proof readers, not authors.
