From the “things that make you sigh” files – Taliban in Afghanistan make millions by taxing US aid and the aid of others
From here:
“The terrorist group has taken the millions in humanitarian and development assistance intended to help the people of Afghanistan in the form of taxes, fees, import duties, permit charges, licenses, or public utility services.
The Taliban has probably received a much bigger chunk of the humanitarian assistance because the parties involved in the cash giveaway, including federal agencies, the famously corrupt United Nations and handpicked nonprofits, do not bother keeping track.”
How many millions?
“Of the nearly $3 billion in humanitarian aid that the United States has given Afghanistan since the 2021 military withdraw at least $11 million—and likely a lot more—has gone to the Taliban, according to a new federal audit.”
That would not be an “onsite” audit, just totting up the taxes and fees charged directly,
God knows the people being ruled by the unelected Taliban who took over the country following the ignominious exit of the US three years ago this August.
“Women and girls are being erased from public life, peaceful dissent is not tolerated, violence and the threat of violence are used with impunity to control and instil fear in the population,” said Richard Bennett, UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Afghanistan. “This is compounded by an economic and humanitarian crisis that results in the denial of economic, social and cultural rights.”
The twenty-year occupation cost close to a trillion bucks.

Plus, a lot of military equipment and cash:
It’s almost as if NATO should invade and do something about the humanitarian crisis. Unless of course, it has other wars to fight and such.
Any news of how many Americans and their contractors plus families still in Afghanistan?
Maybe the Taliban has already sold or given away the equipment off to Hamas or the Houthis, maybe even to Russia!
Including a veritable air force – though the Taliban probably need some training somewhere in the US. like the Saudi 9-11 747 pilots – free entry at the southern border to a city of their choice in the US.
How Valuable Are The U.S. Weapons The Taliban Just Captured? : NPR
“This includes four C-130 transport aircraft, 23 Brazilian-made A-29 "Super Tucano" turboprop ground-attack aircraft, 45 UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters, and 50 smaller MD-530 choppers. In addition, Afghan forces were given more than 30 military versions of Cessna single-engine fixed-wing aircraft.”

😡😡😡😡😡😡 yet Biden isn’t at all in trouble this but Trump over something that is very minor compared to what he did and does do or doesn’t.
I don't normally self-promote, but it's a game, folks!! The equipment was deliberately left there. The inaudacious U.S. retreat was planned. The one organ within the U.S. governmental body which is thoroughly compromised by Oligarchs is the U.S. military. They WANT the Taliban in power. Their only "mission" in the Middle East involves creating the greatest instability and opportunity for kinetic conflict. https://sunlotus17.substack.com/p/the-great-game-of-war-part-1
