Arrg, having problems getting things where I want them again. Above is a link to DW Shumway’s interview of myself taken a few weeks ago in Ueno park in Tokyo. Give it a listen and let us know you thoughts on it. While you are at it, subscribe to his substack if you haven’t already. I am his second interview of folks in Japan. Guy Gin was his first of us in Japan to be interviewed. Guy Gin’s substack is another must read for those interested in what is actually going on here and went on here during the panic.

Thats a nice experience being interviewed that way! And nice to hear you in person for the first time!
(I found a new job finally (thank god FINALLY), thats why I had less time for anything else, but with more routine I will be back soon to check out whats really going on around the wolrd again)
I hope things will get better step by step now as it gets nicer outside with springtime. Good luck and all the best to you all!
Nice interview! However, now I will see/hear that dude from The Man from Earth every time I read your writings now. As that's the one your voice in combination with your lively speech pattern brought to mind, hope you don't mind. :-)
The only time I've worn a cloth mask is to preserve humidity in an extremely dry environment, and to keep rough dust in such environment away. Well, the latter is more so an effect of the reduced airflow I guess.
I remember a Japanese YouTube channel having a link to an infomercial in the description of the videos during the sham. Supposedly, it was meant to argue for the usage of masks.
However, the infomercial clearly pointed out, clearly even if you don't know Japanese, that the N95 masks only stop some ~70% of particles under the conditions that both people wear masks, keep a distance of at least 2 meters, in a well-ventilated room, the humidity is around 40%, and neither person is speaking above "conversational levels".
Is that something you recognise?
