“Former Trump White House trade adviser Peter Navarro on Thursday was sentenced to four months in prison following his conviction in September on two counts of congressional contempt after he defied a subpoena from the former House select committee that probed the Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot. “

So, there is that. Navarro was found guilty of not respecting Congress. Fair enough.

As Dickens wrote: “If the law supposes that," said Mr. Bumble, squeezing his hat emphatically in both hands, "the law is a ass — a idiot. If that's the eye of the law, the law is a bachelor; and the worst I wish the law is, that his eye may be opened by experience — by experience.”

The Democratic Party symbol is just that. An ass. There used to be a lot of smart Democratic politicians. They have been replaced by a GOON squad infested with the likes of AOC, Shifty Schiff, Hirono and Fartwell.

For the Democratic Party, the law is a device that manifests as “the process is the punishment”.

The previous J6 committee was a kangaroo court of poseurs who manufactured charges against those exercising their democratic right to protest. Yes, there were some – probably paid by the FBI – who engaged in moronic acts of violence. But the only people that died that day were those shot by BLM supporting Capitol police.

But the law is the law. There is a respect owed to the “office”, regardless of who is inn power.

We can be cynical about the political persecution of political opponents to the ruling party and compare it to the millions of criminal immigrants who know that they need not bother to turn up for court hearings many years into the future – no contempt there of course.

We can also be cynical about the sentencing being imposed before the POTUS election that might pardon Navarro.

The Democrats regard these millions of criminals as voters. Makes you wonder if the hand wringing of Democrats in “sanctuary cities” is concealing the shifting of criminal immigrants to swing States, right? Not just to red states to narrow voting majorities to make them “purple”.

Navarro joins Bannon as being held in contempt.

“… former Trump White House strategist Steve Bannon was convicted in 2022 on two counts of contempt and sentenced to four months in prison, but the sentence is suspended pending an appeal as he attempts to overturn his conviction.”

Maybe Bannon’s appeal will be held after the POTUS election and a potential pardon.

No doubt, Hunter Biden and his film crew (he is making a documentary about his “persecution”).
