Japan gets ahead of the curve - will downgrade C19 to Class 5 in the Spring - same as the 'flu

I confirmed earlier that the timing is spring. As for the specific date, it is related to the preparation of the site, so we will continue to make adjustments and confirm the date as soon as possible. The Infectious Diseases Subcommittee will also be held next week. I would like to confirm it in that context.”

On a per capita basis, Japan has been triple dosed – the US twice.

The recent “spike” in “cases” and deaths with C19 present has not yet collapsed but will almost certainly see as rapid a decline as the increase in the last few months.

For reference, Japan has suffered a fraction of the deaths per million of its population compared to the US. There have been 518 deaths per million over the three years of the pandemic, compared to 3,371 deaths per million for the US

Less than one sixth the rate of fatalities. Putting that another way, had the US suffered the same rate of deaths per million as Japan, instead of the 1,128,500 deaths recorded in the US with C19 present, there would have been 173,402 deaths in the US. If Japan had the same deaths per million as the US, rather than 65,043 deaths, Japan would have suffered 423,299 deaths.

I would hazard a guess that the additional 955,000 extra US deaths compared to Japan is largely one of treatment protocols and diagnostics of what is and what isn’t a C19 death.
