“FIRE celebrated the ruling, saying "[a]ny law that limits the free exchange of ideas in university classrooms should lose in both the court of law and the court of public opinion."
“The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE) had filed suit in September of 2022, challenging the law. U.S. District Judge Mark Walker in November halted its enforcement, calling the law "dystopian." His ruling excoriated the Florida government with quotes from George Orwell's "1984" and reference to the Washington Post's slogan "Democracy Dies in Darkness."
The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld Walker's decision, ordering that the bill remain unenforced. The brief order, did not provide an explanation for the court's decision, only saying "Appellants’ motions to stay injunction pending appeal are DENIED. The Clerk is DIRECTED to treat any motion for reconsideration of this order as a non- emergency matter."

CRT is a junk theory. It is based on false beliefs. It ignores science and anthropology. Some of the enactments of the beliefs in the learning milieu are harmful to young white learners. Educators should be reported to authorities for emotional child abuse. Therapists should be reported for malpractice. There are also instances in which black people are committing violence against whites and Asians using CRT as the explicit justification for the violence. Those are hate crimes. In some cases the teachers of those delusions should be arrested for incitement of violence.
FIRE is an annoying liberal group that wants to claim moral superiority for being balanced. We see the same from the classic liberal anti-woke feminists. Schools should teach true things. Educators do not have a right to be stupid. States can tell stupid people with wrong ideas to get lost because those ideas harm communities. This is why the China commies are kicking our ass. They do not tolerate stupid antisocial bullshit.
