Meet George Alan Kelly – a survivor of not just a life threatening border encounter on his property, but also a brutalization by law enforcement in Arizona

You may have heard of the case.

George Alan Kelly fired a warning shot to scare off armed criminal immigrants: law enforcement showed up for a few hours to take statements and investigate and took off, having found no trace of the criminals – who had been run off by the warning shot.

Hurs later, while patrolling his property again, Kelly’s dogs sniffed out a corpse - lying face down -on his property. He called law enforcement back; they promptly arrested him and threw him in jail. – with all sorts of criminals – cartel members and others.

After many days “banged up” on cold hard floors, after a trial appearance, a lawyer was appointed to his defence and, after 14 months a jury returned a 7-1 “not guilty” verdict and the state prosecutor dropped the case.

Initially, the judge demanded a 1 million cash bond for bail, later dripped to a much smaller amount which the Kelly’s met by mortgaging everything the Kelly’s had.

He is now a free man.. but..

Questions remain. Not least this manifestation that “the process is the punishment” for a man who was acquitted of a crime that a jury say he did not commit, by law enforcement who appear to have not followed any reasonable protocol and a judge imposing exorbitant bail conditions – compared to say “no bail” in many Democratic Party run States.

Who shot the criminal immigrant and why was his body not found in the first two hours before law enforcement returned? Was he, or are there  shot by the other criminal immigrants or was his body dumped there in a completely unrelated incident pr is there a vigilante group operating in Arizona that is making law enforcement so brutal? How does anyone know if the dead man was part f the original gang of armed criminal immigrants?

As it is, Kelly and his wife, both in their 70’s, are subject to the same danger as before from armed criminal immigrants trespassing on their property – perhaps enhanced danger because of the incident itself  The criminal immigrants know where he lives.

Arizona does not have a specific “stand your ground law.”
