Russia tests a new weapon – the FAB3000 – one that NATO does not have – Belarus performs military exercises that could be a prelude for a repeat invasion of Ukraine and an attack on Kiev
From here:
The battle in the Kharkiv region looks to be heading into a climactic and decisive stage where victory for one side or the other could dictate the outcome of the entire war.
Ahead of large amounts of NATO weaponry delivered to the Kharkiv region for a Ukrainian onslaught in the next few days, the Russians have been heavily fortifying their positions and have been testing the deployment of a weapon called the FAB3000 – deployed from its most advanced fighter, the SU 34.
So far, the accuracy is not quite there, and the Russians only have 2 SU 34’s capable of launching the FAB 3000.
Maybe the Russians will soon work out how to deliver the FAB 3000 on other SU’s – as well as other smaller FAP’s on other SU’s.
Here a link to some details on the FAB 3000 from March 2024:
“In a striking development amid ongoing military operations in Ukraine, Russia has commenced mass production of the FAB-3000, recognized as one of the most destructive aerial bombs globally.
This pivotal advancement was announced by Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu during his visit to an aviation bomb production facility in the Nizhny Novgorod region on March 21, 2024. This initiative marks a critical expansion in Russia's military capabilities, particularly emphasizing its strategic implications for the war in Ukraine.”
“The FAB-3000 is a testament to the engineering prowess of conventional munitions, weighing approximately 3,000 kg and carrying 1,400 kg of TNT. It features a maximum penetration capacity of 183 mm, an armor destruction radius of 42 m, and a fragment dispersion radius of 260 m.
The "destruction radius" refers to the area within which the bomb can cause direct, significant damage to structures and personnel due to its blast and shockwave. The "fragment dispersion radius" denotes the wider area over which bomb fragments scatter, posing lethal risks to personnel and causing secondary damage.”
It sounds as if the detonation f the device renders personnel brain damaged and/or paralysed within a few hundred meters of detonation also.
And an article on the SU34 - also from March 2024:
The Su-34 Is Russia’s Best Precision Bomber, And Ukraine's Top Target (forbes.com)
“The Russian air force’s Su-35 and Sukhoi Su-30 communities, each with around a hundred planes, could employ air-to-ground PGMs, but usually didn’t.
As a consequence, “most Russian fast-jet pilots do not have significant experience using precision-guided munitions,” Bronk wrote in a separate study, also in 2022. “The specialized Su-34 ‘frontal bomber’ fleet is an exception.”
The narrator in the video goes into some depth on the FAB4000 (not to be confused with the FA3P00 used in internet war games!).
Of note, 1,500 Dutch military have been deployed to the Ukrainian border with Ukraine, north of Kiev (remember the Belarus military almost entered Kiev at the start of the war in 2020).
The Dutch are going to “audit” the number of mines and fortifications claimed by the Ukrainians with NATO funds – the narrator points out that the same sort of fortifications were paid for but not put down in the Kharkiv region.
Who knows, maybe the Russians went around the mine fields and fortifications built by the Ukrainians and are now using them instead – as would be the case for territorial gains made by Ukrainians.
Onwards!!!

Good place to test new weapons is in a war - be interesting to see how effective these bombs are with the world watching. Anyone interested in building one of the Russian Jets in 1/33 scale out of carboard (costs practically zero to do) find it here: https://only-paper.ru/
A 3000 kg iron bomb is not worlds most destructive. The fuel air bombs are far more destructive. Russia murders civilians because they know it works and they struggle to get past the air defense around military targets. If Russia depopulates the land by extermination and mostly by frightening away the survivors, it’s a lot easier to repeat the post Holomodor repopulation with ethnic Russians trick.
