Scotland fells 16 million trees - and plants wind turbines – Scotland has far bigger problems from on-going corruption and fiscal theft (borrowing with no intention of repaying)
From here: h/t Emily
“Mairi Gougeon, the Scottish Government's Rural Affairs Secretary, admitted that they had felled millions of trees in order to build more turbines. It forms part of the SNP administration's plans to make Scotland net zero over the next decade.”
“It was estimated that 15.7 million trees had been felled since 2000.”
“.. the equivalent of about 7,858 hectares of trees” – just under 20,000 acres out of Scotlands 19.5 million acres).
“FLS said it had planted more than 500 million trees since 2000 and the quantity felled for wind farms equated roughly to its annual harvesting programme. The SNP have been in power at Holyrood since 2007.”
So, half a billion planted since 2007 – easily defeating the argument -

Ugly monstrosities scarring the landscape as they destroy accidental winged tourists that stray within reach with material mined with child labour in Africa and South America, refined by a country that runs concentration camps for religious dissidents, that will last 10-15 years and then require expensive sites to dispose of their toxic, non-biodegradable motors and blades. Turbines that will be obsolete in 5 years as technology advances way beyond that which exists today.
Just think, it might be provable, with an ounce or two of research by the smart people of Scotland (generations of fine engineers and scientists) that wind tunnels, funnelling currents underground, rather than giant windmills above ground, could be more efficient with a far smaller eco system destroying footprint.
“Ms Gougeon insisted that there was a planning presumption in favour of protecting woodland, despite the amount being chopped down.”
“She added that wind farm developers would be expected to undertake "compensatory planting elsewhere”. The government is aiming to add about 20,000 more turbines over the next few years so that they can generate 20GW of power, to add to the 19,000 they already have.”
“ Scotland's energy consumption has slightly decreased in the last decade from almost 170,000GWh in 2010 to 155,000GWh in 2020.”

Is that 20,000 GWh rather than 20, to add to the 19,000 already there = 39,000 GWH out of consumption of 170,000 GWH consumed (23%) in 3-5 years to 2025-2028?
Gougeon has been Minister of Rural Affairs since 2018 the wind turbine (scheme has been running since 2000).

Scotland has access to vast natural gas and oil reserves, but because it is part of the United Kingdom, these have been controlled by London, which, unlike Norway, simply spent it rather than putting it aside for a non-windy or sunny, rainy day. (Scotland spends far more than it takes in taxes
Record revenues drive recovery in Scotland’s finances - gov.scot (www.gov.scot)
“The Government Expenditure and Revenue Scotland (GERS) 2021-22 statistics show Scotland’s deficit fell by 10.3% – compared to a drop of 8.4% for the UK.
Revenue rose to £73.8 billion, up a record £11.1 billion from the previous year, while public spending fell by £0.9 billion to £97.5 billion.”
Note the “Revenue up a record 11.1 billion” – the other side of the “green” coin” as Scotland emerged from the worst of the government caused catastrophe of the scamdemic. “2021-22 Scotland’s net fiscal balance was a deficit of 12.3% of GDP (£23.7 billion)”.
Scotland’s public spending deficit hits record of nearly £2,200 a head | Scotland | The Guardian
“GERS data puts gap between tax receipts and expenditure at £23.7bn despite jump in income from oil and gas.”
Scotland is just anoer small part of the global Marxist/Maoist Cult of Moloch plans to destroy existing wealth and prevent its creation.
Out of interest, the last “First Minister of Scotland” was Nicola Sturgeon, in charge for nine years to this year, resigned in disgrace – she was deputy to the prior “First Minister”, Alex Salmond – who also left in disgrace after a decade. The current First Minister is Humza Yousaf (Rishi Sunak is the British Prime Minister).

This just kills my soul. The street I live on was full of trees when we moved here. In a few shorts years it is almost treeless. Lazy youngsters didnt want the leaf hassle and just chopped em down. Me I got two big beautiful oaks and a Maple that just piss the neighbors off to no end when the leaves blow their way, lol 😂.
I love every second of it!
K2 you are correct the lazy-boi’s love those unpredictable bombs on wheels, lol 😂.
Me if I’m out I stay away from them, and will walk a mile not to park near one.
I’m old school, I like my gas powered cars and trees. And I’m not changing for anyone!
Hell, I’d take a horse and buggy over that EV chit anyday.
The good news is that these folks are vaxed, which means they will be gone soon. YAY!
