“Mairi Gougeon, the Scottish Government's Rural Affairs Secretary, admitted that they had felled millions of trees in order to build more turbines. It forms part of the SNP administration's plans to make Scotland net zero over the next decade.”

“It was estimated that 15.7 million trees had been felled since 2000.”

So, half a billion planted since 2007 – easily defeating the argument -

Replace a renewable natural habitat that supports an entire eco-system of wildlife, the removal of CO2 that can be managed to provide raw materials for a multitude of uses –

Ugly monstrosities scarring the landscape as they destroy accidental winged tourists that stray within reach with material mined with child labour in Africa and South America, refined by a country that runs concentration camps for religious dissidents, that will last 10-15 years and then require expensive sites to dispose of their toxic, non-biodegradable motors and blades. Turbines that will be obsolete in 5 years as technology advances way beyond that which exists today.

Just think, it might be provable, with an ounce or two of research by the smart people of Scotland (generations of fine engineers and scientists) that wind tunnels, funnelling currents underground, rather than giant windmills above ground, could be more efficient with a far smaller eco system destroying footprint.

Is that 20,000 GWh rather than 20, to add to the 19,000 already there = 39,000 GWH out of consumption of 170,000 GWH consumed (23%) in 3-5 years to 2025-2028?

Gougeon has been Minister of Rural Affairs since 2018 the wind turbine (scheme has been running since 2000).

Scotland has access to vast natural gas and oil reserves, but because it is part of the United Kingdom, these have been controlled by London, which, unlike Norway, simply spent it rather than putting it aside for a non-windy or sunny, rainy day. (Scotland spends far more than it takes in taxes

Note the “Revenue up a record 11.1 billion” – the other side of the “green” coin” as Scotland emerged from the worst of the government caused catastrophe of the scamdemic. “2021-22 Scotland’s net fiscal balance was a deficit of 12.3% of GDP (£23.7 billion)”.

Out of interest, the last “First Minister of Scotland” was Nicola Sturgeon, in charge for nine years to this year, resigned in disgrace – she was deputy to the prior “First Minister”, Alex Salmond – who also left in disgrace after a decade. The current First Minister is Humza Yousaf (Rishi Sunak is the British Prime Minister).
