The Biden (mal)administration’s Department of Energy either cannot do basic arithmetic or is lying about the land needed for its Green (bogus/booger) New Deal
Authentic investigative journalists at Real Clear Investigations have done a little digging into the claims for the sequestration of land for windmills and turbines to meet 2035 “renewables” energy goals – that is, in a little over ten years.
From here:
“The Department of Energy’s official line – echoed by many environmental activists and academics – is that the vast array of solar panels and wind turbines required to meet Biden’s goal of “100% clean electricity” by 2035 will require “less than one-half of one percent of the contiguous U.S. land area.” This topline number translates into 15,000 of the lower 48’s roughly 3 million square miles. “
Less than one half of one per cent of “contiguous land”. Contiguous Area means any unincorporated area which, on or after January 1, 1999, had an aggregate external boundary directly abutting a municipal boundary. None the wiser with that definition!
So there’s the lie in the policy documents. 15,000 square miles, now check out the real number.
“However, the government report that furnished those estimates also notes that the wind farm footprint alone could require an expanse nine times as large: 134,000 square miles. “
134,000 square miles, just for windmills.
Solar panels? Let’s read on.
“Even that figure is misleading because it does not include land for the new transmission systems that would connect the energy, created by the solar panels carpeting the ground and skyscraper-tall wind turbines filling the horizons, to American businesses and homes. “
Back to the Real Clear Investigations piece.
Ok, so no data on solar panels, but the key point is that all that windmill and solar power needs to be transmitted along lines that do not exist.
I find the forests of windmills an eyesore even at today’s levels. It is obvious that fields of solar panels remove any other productive use, like for crops, or parks.
Here’s an idea of what a leading green energy advocate, Professor Jesse Jenkins thinks is perfectly acceptable (how does this lunatic get to be a professor, let alone still be outside a lunatic asylum!)
“We’ll have to build as much new clean generation by 2035 as the total electricity produced by all sources today, then build the same amount again by 2050,” Jenkins wrote. “This could ultimately require utility-scale solar projects that cover the size of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut combined, and wind farms that span an area equal to that of Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee.”
Strait jacket for Jenkins – he thinks he is a professor!
This is what the “Green (bogus/booger) New Deal” means. And all that build out of “renewables is predicated on massive fossil fuel usage to make the windmills and solar panels – plus open cast mining of the metals like cobalt and lithium – using child slave labour of course, - in multiples of the current rape, pillage and plunder of the land and its people.
These people are insane members of the Cult of Moloch and think that because the WEF and the United Nations has “Sustainable Development Goals” that these are a) Sustainable (they aren’t). b0 Developments – they aren’t, they are retrograde steps that impoverish and sicken people, and c) qualify as “goals”, they are no, they are to use the soccer expression “own goals” where the defender puts the ball into his own net!.
I have been posting about the collapse of the EV market in China using Lithium Ion batteries that have been planted in fields plus how they have a tendency to catch fire without warning plus the need to park vars and bikes outside. So even if the goal is to make all transportation battery powered and all power sourced from renewables, the costs are going to be enormous. These is no sufficient income earned by the entire workforce to ever pay for this stupidity.
To further illustrate the cost being way in excess of any ability to pay for this madness, I have referred to the following link many times and repost it here:

There is no way realistic way to store electricity.
Wind and solar are intermittent and can not replace a baseline power plant
If I wanted to go off grid I would have moved to Alaska
Hi Peter, Net zero amounts to a barren environment that cannot support mammals, including humans life. Never mind these so-called initiatives appear intended to benefit the CCPs bottom line and leave everyone with toxic metals and glass cleanup. Yes, average life expectancy of each technology being pushed tells a more complete story of ignorance, corruption and greed. Just like the Covid plandemic, the investment/benefit analysis is seriously flawed. Round and round we go! If you go back to your prior posting on lithium batteries exploding on e-bikes, hang on til their next earlier report starts. All about gluing rocks on rebars and planting hundreds of these and spraying trees and landscape near roads green. Amazing admission of their kabuki theatrics in play to keep from alarming their regulatory officials (just like Pfizer?) see for yourself!
