The COP28 boondoggle is over – more than 97,000 “badge holders” doggled their boons and virtue signalled their ignorance of facts and science to “transition” to Net Zero by 2050
Edit PS: 100,000 people for the 3 days of the “conference of the parties” - flights, hotels. shuttles, meals etc at 5,000 bucks a head works out at a boon doggle of the odd half a billion bucks - it’s only money and it’s not theirs!
Here is a proxy for those attending:
Analysis: Which countries have sent the most delegates to COP28? - Carbon Brief
“More than 97,000 participants have badges to attend this year’s Conference of the Parties (COP) in Dubai in person.
This is almost twice the number that travelled to Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt for COP27 last year, the previous largest in an almost 30-year history of summits.
For the first time in COP history, every single delegate has been named in the participant lists (not including support staff).”
“.. the UAE has the largest-ever registered delegation of any country, with 4,409 badges. This is followed by Brazil with 3,081 and then China and Nigeria, who have both issued 1,411 badges.”
I am sure that British taxpayers will be delighted to see the boon being doggled in grand style all in the manner to which UK politicians have grown accustomed: Check this out
“Unusually, the participant lists for this year also name the “overflow” badges that have been given out. For the UK delegation, examples include 21 members of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s press delegation, 16 members of King Charles’s royal household and 18 members of parliament.”
Flights, hotels, limousines and “expenses” will run to millions. The King will have been well and truly “butlered”. I wonder if they had to draw lots for the MP’s – who, no doubt, were NON-attendees at any of Bridgen’s speeches at the Houses of Parliament asking for an enquiry into 100’s of thousands of extra UK deaths over the last 4 years.
You can see a full list of all “badge holders” here:
Provisional list of registered participants: on-site participants (Excel file) | UNFCCC
No breakdown by country so there is that lack of “transparency” one funds for all boondoggles where taxpayers funds are stolen to provide comfort for the “rich and famous” elites.
Almost 100,000 “delegates” need a lot of meat and drink plus hotel rooms and “hotel corridor” parties – I wonder how much “bunga bunga” went on? Maybe we will see some “leaks” covering the “festivities” in the next few weeks.
The hypocrisy of the chicken little climate freaks has not gone unnoticed:
From here:
“While Dubai is more commonly known as the hub for aviation giant Emirates, its home at Dubai International Airport (DXB) has also seen a flurry of private jets over COP28. It's unclear if these are related directly to the conference, but it does raise a few eyebrows.
A quick search on Flightradar24 has spotted several private jets bound for the United Arab Emirates, including a Bombardier Global 7500 from Nigeria, an Embraer Legacy 650E from Switzerland, a Gulfstream IV from Japan, and a Dassault Falcon 7X from India.”
I bet no-one on any commercial flight flew “cattle class” and also there would be a bunch of “security guards” when they did fly commercial also. That “security” would not be necessarily be “badge holders” and enter the conference rooms!
There are even some “spouses” on the “badge holder” list! Boons gotta doggle!
So, what did the conference of the parties – big parties – accomplish?
COP28 achieves zero, as usual - The Conservative Woman
“The main so-called achievement is the mention of the need to move away from fossil fuels, the first time this has been included in a Final Agreement. But just as in Glasgow at COP26 in 2021 with coal, there was a total refusal from many countries to endorse the term ‘phase out’ or even ‘phase down’. Instead the Agreement states: ‘Transitioning away from fossil fuels in our energy systems, beginning in this decade, in a just, orderly and equitable manner so as to achieve Net Zero by 2050 in keeping with the science.’
To all intents and purposes this is a meaningless fudge. The get-out clause, ‘in a just, orderly and equitable manner’, will allow China, India and the rest of the 24-strong Like-Minded Developing Countries (LDMC) group, who vetoed the phase-out of coal at COP26, to carry on using as much fossil fuel as they like.”
From the TCW article, a new term for me - Like Minded-Group of Developing Countries (LMDC)
Like-Minded Developing Countries - Wikipedia
Half the world’s population!
India and China alone make up 35% of the world's population.
“But the biggest weakness of all in this Agreement is that it is not binding on any country. There are no national targets laid down as to who must do what. Instead it merely calls on countries ‘to contribute to global efforts to transition away from fossil fuels’. It is significant that there was no debate allowed on the final text, an indication that some countries might have rejected it as too weak.”
Still, a commitment to “Net Zero” by 2050 was “signed” – non-binding and with no mechanism articulated for the transfer of wealth from developed to developing countries to make it all happen, via loans in the trillions of course.
This means that the bankrupt western nations will have to halve their current emissions in a dozen years in order to virtue signal the bankrupting of their countries in pursuit of the “faux science” of “climate change” which does not even factor in the most significant factor affecting the climate – CLOUDS.
It is not a “transfer of wealth” since all the developed countries are bankrupt with debt to GDP ratios in excess of 100%. Recent interest rate hikes to counter the inflation caused by sanctions on Russia over Ukraine means that another 5% of GDP just got sucked into paying interest on government debt. How do you lend money when you are bankrupt? Ask central banks and also ask them whether this impacts central bank digital currencies!

Nothing shows the world how concerned you are about the environment like flying your private jet to go to hang out with other billionaires to plot how to con the world into giving up all of their rights and property in exchange for having a gang of thieving and murdering despots take control, on the promise they will then be able to stop the earth's climate from changing;-)
It could have been worse. I will take it as a win. Sydneysiders told today to turn their aircon temps UP (in summer) and not to use their washing machines and dishwashers until tomorrow. If I lived there I would do 16 loads of washing and a few loads of dishes as well. People are going to have to learn the hard way.
