The US House of Representatives now has no Speaker as McCarthy is removed because of broken promises used to secure the post 8 months ago

“The GOP-led House on Tuesday voted in favor of removing Republican Congressman Kevin McCarthy as House speaker, marking the first time in U.S. history the leader of the chamber has been removed in such a process.
The unofficial vote tally was 216-210.
"The House speaker of the United States is hereby vacated," Arkansas GOP Rep. Steve Womack, who was presiding over the proceedings, said after the vote.”
So, presumably there will be several more rounds of votes to appoint a new one – maybe this next one will find a way to advance an agenda that passes legislation that Americans need.
“On the House floor, during a roughly 30-minute debate before the vote, Gaetz said McCarthy did not follow through on putting up 12 "single subject" appropriations bills on the floor for votes.
He argued that the way to curb wasteful spending and get the debt under control was to pass 12 separate bills funding federal departments. Gaetz hasn't said who he supports for speaker instead of McCarthy.”

Amazing turn of events. A dollar short and a day late, but still amazing. Now the republicans can continue to slow-walk any meaningful impeachment proceedings or other needed reforms until next year.
So very nice of Gaetz to wait until almost the end of this session to oust McCarthy, just to make SURE the ousting wouldn't make ANY difference to a single American. And likely, the only new speaker that can get enough votes will be yet ANOTHER treasonous slag anyway.
Know how Congress works...one corruption /compromise is the only way you can do deals...and it leaves the rinos with no power.
But you know what? THEY SHOULD BE DEFENDING TRUMP. Go read Teirney's news.
They will do anything to defeat Trump. It is all one uniparty. You cannot (as Howie Carr Boston radio) continue to think that we have to play the tit for tat you owe me a favor game.
It will probably turn out to be a terrible decision.
But you know what? I am glad.
Time for the old system to crumble. Hope They realize it.
Now they will really be angry. ...I don't dare to think what they will do, except I know they will go to the oligarch global masters and try and get a better stick to kill Gaetz with.
But in the end...they have not called or DOJ impeachment, they have not used their power to stop the valuation of real estate against Trump...they HAVE DONE NOTHING TO DEFEND TRUMP.
So suck it.
