Will NATO save Biden’s bacon by establishing a “no-fly” zone over Ukraine to defeat Russia?

The land war in Ukraine looks like it has ground to a halt amidst high summer temperatures. Russia has been unable to press its artillery fire power advantage into significant territorial gains since it repelled Ukraine’s counter-offensive in 2023.

Russia has, more or less, destroyed Ukraine’s power grid, making for uncomfortable living for those not sent to the 700-mile front. Ukraine has effectively rendered Russia’s navy headquartered in the Crimea useless.

What we are about to see will determine the outcome of the war in Ukraine – the deployment of F16 jets into Ukraine, first announced a year ago in May 2023 under a lot of controversy here:

Practice makes perfect:

“More than three dozen fighter pilots from nine NATO countries convened last week at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, to face off against each other in a first-of-its-kind, U.S.-led exercise to sharpen air-to-air combat skills and coordination between allies.”

This was the headline more than a year later, last week:

“WASHINGTON, July 10 (Reuters) - The first batch of U.S.-built F-16 fighter jets are already being transferred to Ukraine from Denmark and the Netherlands and will be flying over Ukrainian skies this summer, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Wednesday.”

So, what we are about to see is “who has the biggest dick in the cockpit?”.

Russia’s half dozen MiG-31’s may have been expanded by another dozen and be re-equipped with long range air to air missiles adapted to shoot down F-16’s. Russia’s SU-57’s may not be suitable for aerial combat.

So, in a nutshell, if Russia destroys all the F-16’s (not the most modern version, not quite obsolete either) the Russia can establish a “no-fly” zone over Ukraine. The same goes for NATO. If the FS-16’s establish a “no-fly” zone over Ukraine, Russia loses everything and has to go cap in hand to sue for peace, after it withdraws from all of Ukraine, including Crimea.

All this to happen in the next few weeks.

Sort of makes you wonder whether Russia has not already destroyed all Ukraine’s military airfields – or will do so shortly. Which would leave Ukraine’s only F-16 deployment option – to fly missions from NATO countries.

And that will be the fifth toll of the Armageddon nuclear holocaust bell.

It also means that Biden could claim victory in Ukraine and reverse Trump’s stranglehold on the upcoming POTUS election.

Americans love success, a win in Ukraine would be a feather in Biden’s dunce cap and would, maybe, galvanize Democratic Party support.
