That Epoch article is sketchy as hell. If you can lockdown the phone and stop it why the big push? They found this program on exactly 1 phone and won’t give details about it. I’ll take my chances but thanks for the heads up!

I am always suspicious of even virus and malware protection since you give up your operating system to enable it!
When I was working in an office I would freak out when external parties - beyond the firms firewalls - would offer to update my calendar with an appointment remotely!
They constantly warn but I wonder if it’s not a ploy to keep them updated on what’s going on on your phone?? Am I paranoid?? I rarely update. They usually force it by crashing the phone eventually.

Why the big push? These updates happen almost weekly.
I have no idea.. I don't have one. I thought they would be automatic.
They are automatic if your iPhone is connected to power (overnight) Unless you don’t have auto-updates enabled.
