Totally unreal! Brave new totalitarian dystopia! We have to fight for our freedom before it is too late!

POINT ONE:

"Ireland is In the EU and mist do what it’s told"

Excuse me while I fall out of my chair laughing myself silly...but, when have the Irish EVER done what they're told?? They may appear to, but behind the scenes, it's a whole different story. This is how Irish folk dancing came about for starters.

POINT TWO:

Keeping the Irish from free speech, are you kidding me??? The Irish are known for freely expressing their opinion whenever & wherever they like.

By the way - I'm sure all of these anti-free speech etc. laws will go over just swimmingly with the Irish and probably the Scottish as well. I may be American but I was born a Murphy, adopted by Garrick family and married a Donohue - which I think makes me triple Irish...and all that goes with it times 3. IIRC, Halligan is also an Irish name?

How is it that the people making these laws do not seem to understand the Irish or Scottish spirit after all the centuries of sharing same history, same continent etc.? Get out the popcorn, this should be good.

It's also the day that Trudeau quadruples the carbon tax, basically the tax on everything on account of pollution.

I love living in a progressive dictatorship.

And I'd reply, but I'm too broke to sub. Food prices are already unholy. Was at the grocer yesterday, a dozen eggs for 9$, a package of 2 chicken breasts was 21$ - I dropped it back in the case with horror, even ground beef is 20$ per pound, bell peppers at 6-8$ each.

Granted, I live in an expensive city, but this is insane. And up north it's much worse.

As for electric vehicles, well, they don't work six months out of the year because of the cold.

The 150$ i got for the carbon tax rebate was a joke. But then, they're hell-bent on destroying the west.

That's incredible. I am in the UK, in central London. I ca buy half a kilo of 5^ fat minced beef for aroud 3 pounds - around five C$ - two chicken breasts a little cheaper - fruit and veg are cheap - I can more tha make the three pound home delivery charge by grabbing special offers - usually around 9 punds ur of a weekly shop of 120 pounds - 215 C$.

I suspect that something bad is ging o i Canada - a cartel, or price gouging - or maybe it's higher fuel costs or taxes? luciry and entertainment are expensive here. but not fod. Canada has mre food than the UK, so my bet is that there is a massive crime beig perpetrated - and its nort just the potato prices we saw in Canada a few years ago!

I think there's a fair vit of gouging going on. We don't have a lot of different grocers - most are owned by a few big conglomerates. And they've been making record profits the past two years.

Interesting documentary if you've got 40 minutes:

10 cents out of the price of a loaf of bread that ges fr 6 bucks in the supermarket?

well, it like behaviour typical of a monopoly or a cartel.

that subsidy scheme loks ttally bogus, but has a "nice" intent, just a dumb implementation.

there are many supermarkets here and competition is fierce.

There looks to be unique problems in remote areas that require unique solutions - perhaps Scandinavian countries have solutions.

Short of supplying the entire foood ad water needs via new enyerprise - buidling an ninfrastructure of weather prrof hydroponics for example, I suspect an expert panel of locals, ScNDI FARMERS AND uk REGULATRS PROVIDES THE MOST POTENTIAL. i HEAR THERE ARE ARE SME dUTCH FARMERS THAT MIGHT BE LKING OFR WORK THAT MIGHT BE ABLE TO BE RETRIANED FOR LOCAL NORTHERN CODITIONS!

i ALSO WONDER HOW MUCH TRANSPORTATION COSTS HAVE GNE UP WITH GREE ENERGY, BUT THAT'S ANOTHER ISSUE TO PRICE HOUGING CIA PREDATORY RPICING WITHIN A CARTEL OR MOPILUY

EXCUSE CAPS, IT'S BEE A LONG DAY!
