Sorry but this is just NOT great news. What this means is that Big Pharma is off the hook thanks to Trump’s Operation Warp Speed, and the bill is now simply deposited with the tax payer: which is US! Governments keep on “mandating” and then they will keep on “printing money” in order to pay for the damages! How is this a “win?”
My read was that this was not a federal tax payer funded settlement, but a city tax payer funded settlement that can be used against companies, universities et al that imposed mandates that resulted in loss of jobs/opportunities. the outcome is that mandates will get lifted, workers/students et al reinstated with compensation. which means that institutions everywhere will think twice about imposing mandates based on the experimental treatments on their employees/faculty without conclusive proof of verifiable evidence that is demonstrably replicated in real life.
The settlement "without discovery" indicates that the proof of malfeasance by the employer is so blatant it would be futile to deny it. As one NYC judge said about mandates - they are "arbitrary and capricious" - until struck down by some positive affirmation hire left wing SOTUS justice.
As the US legal system stands - there is no pursuable course of action for unfair dismissal.
big pharma is not prosecutable under EUA for vaxx damage, so this is one way of delegitimizing one of the mandates - in the (semi-) private sector. Any institution imposing mandates in an arbitrary and capricious manner without clear evidence of benefit (even leaving aside risk from vaxx damage) needs to repeal mandates and pay out for their authoritarian edicts.
Yes it’s a loss, try to think a little bit further than just the initial “success.” As I said, the ‘settlement’ comes out of the pockets of the citizens, NOT Big Pharma. If local governments go bankrupt, then the Federal government will just step in with a bail out, and if they don’t have the money for a bail out then they will just print the money. Regardless of what kind of positive ‘spin’ you want to give to this story, the people who get screwed over are the tax payers and the people who save money (through inflation caused by money printing) while the politicians and Big Pharma CEOs walk away with bonuses and cushy jobs. Mark my words: this ‘settlement’ will do NOTHING for preventing “mandates,” because the Orange Charlatan was stupid (or corrupt, just look into his connection to Epstein and Bill Gates!) enough to wave any liability for Big Pharma. Want to prevent “mandates?” Make the POLITICIANS and Pharma CEOs liable! Until this happens, politicians will continue with mandates and passing the bill to the honest people who pay taxes and have money saved for a rainy day.
Whats gonna also be interesting is if the situation sizes up whereas the Gov't has to pay penalties...because when the Govt pays, its tax dollars, not dollars from those that specifically benefited from the wealth transfer that occurred over the past 2.5 years. 🙏4✌& atonement

So, it's a loss then?

Wonderful news on one level. Thanks for posting.
Back peddling springs to mind, by the wrong doers.
However that sort of settlement stinks to high heaven & back of the Pfizer settlements.
If even the first or second out of court Pfizer settlement, had been correctly & legally investigated, Pfizer would have been long gone.
Interesting...such the early settlement.
Avoiding discovery time indeed.
