For centuries the Chinese people embraced a cosmic understanding that their leader(s) had to perform in accordance with Heaven -- a Heaven that affects our world and daily life and its orderliness and balance. Perhaps, somehow -- communist indoctrination aside -- the people of China still expect their leadership to be in accordance with the Cosmos, and work to make the lives of their people and world better, to pursue and maintain some kind of balance, rather than purposely work to cause misery and pain, teetering on the brink of chaos. No governing system could ask for a more energetic, hard-working, talented populace no matter what the people's level of education or region of origin. The Chinese government is failing to respect and value the many earnest and upstanding character strengths of the Chinese people. The world over, acts of Covid Tyranny are exposing failed bureaucrats and leaders. I think the Chinese populace is realizing that a nation cannot succeed if those who govern fail to provide a buffer against the chaotic and attempt to instill only fear.
