Once again, the MSM censors one side of a two-sided debate – this time about claims that 2023 was the hottest summer in 2,000 years – as measured by tree-ring data
In the red (hotter) corner, we have this paper published a few weeks ago by one Professor in Germany and another in the UK:
2024-05-hottest-summer-years.pdf
And in the blue (cooler) corner we have this:
From the red (hotter) corner, there are passages like this:
“The available tree-ring data reveals that most of the cooler periods over the past 2,000 years, such as the Little Antique Ice Age in the 6th century and the Little Ice Age in the early 19th century, followed large sulfur-rich volcanic eruptions. These eruptions spew huge amounts of aerosols into the stratosphere, triggering rapid surface cooling. The coldest summer of the past 2,000 years, in 536 CE, followed one such eruption, and was 3.93°C colder than the summer of 2023.”
From the blue (cooler) corner we have this:
“This claim can’t be verified by tree-ring data, which isn’t that precise. Researchers are falsely assuming tree rings are reliable temperature indicators when in fact tree rings can indicate a multitude of different conditions, not just temperature.”
Red corner:
“The researchers note that while their results are robust for the Northern Hemisphere, it is difficult to obtain global averages for the same period since data is sparse for the Southern Hemisphere. The Southern Hemisphere also responds differently to climate change, since it is far more ocean-covered than the Northern Hemisphere.”
Blue corner:
“Estimated temperatures from select tree rings and other proxies far into the past are grafted onto more reliable temperatures measured in the present and presented as one unified dataset, when in fact they are radically different.”
Maybe these learned people should get a room and order I beer and sandwiches then publish a paper that actually represents what is going on. There can’t be a global average, when only half the planet has data or if the tree ring data is subject to factors other than temperature and localized conditions.
Neither side has mentioned any impact on 2023 of the Hunga Tonga volcano in January of 2022.
A volcano emitting huge amounts of water vapor (warming effect?) as opposed to sulphur-rich (cooling effect).
Anecdotally, from my London base, the summer of 2023 was mostly cloudy and far cooler (5 degrees C) than 2020 or 2021!
One last extract from the blue corner:
“Dozens of media outlets such as ABC News, The BBC, The New York Times, and many more hyped a study that claims summer temperatures in 2023 were unprecedented over the past 2,000 years. [emphasis, links added].”
Each of these MSM outlets pays its reporters handsome salaries so it’s not a case of “pay peanuts, get monkeys”.
It is more a case of “pay gold, get brain dead, incurious, propagandists”.
Ant that is why millions die every year from lethal treatment protocols from scamdemic and toxic experimental (and failed) modified mRNA injections.
Death by propaganda, and the censorship of quality, iterated, evolved and debated science.
Onwards!!!

So boring, all this climate/temperature nonsense. CO2 as a proxy for taxation. A fake proxy. And why is Elon funding CO2 removal?
Thanks, Peter. Rather you than me!
I recall that when I was a kid, summers were really really hot and winters were really, really cold. They're still hot & cold but I have much better clothing now and control the thermostat, not my father.
BTW, has an Eskimo ever moved to Hawaii or Africa and survived the climate change they experienced? I searched but got no relative responses from Google.
