The fact that they were so intertwined came as quite a shock to me. Close as triplets even.

The USA as with all countries ,faces the issue "do we give away our higher standard of living via sponsored welfare systems and open borders, or do we protect and improve our standard of living by focussing on what made the standard of living higher than other less developed countries?"
There is always unlimited demand for "free shit" but limited supply of taxes that pay for "services". I was calculating and comparing the duration of both World Wars to this one - which has been a war on the world.
WWI: 1914 - 18 (just under 4.5 years)
WWII: 1939 - 1945 (6 years, almost exactly)
If we count Jan 2020 as the starting date, this year (2023) has demonstrated a swathe of pivot points. The tide is turning. And, while we have a ways to go yet, I can see the finish line.
We are past the halfway mark.
For multiple reasons, it must end by mid-2024.
Not the least because of the exponential rise in people empowerment.
So, for all those feeling exhausted and in despair - reach out to a friend. Take comfort. Do what you can to get through a little longer - and all that seems fixed in doom will end.
