The UK wakes up with brain (and weather) fog - the vast majority of the country NOT voting for the new Labour Government, despite it wining the expected landslide – Labour vote share the same as 2019

A disastrous night for UK democracy - it is ow a full blown kakistocracy,

The UK no longer has a government – it has a the results of a protest “There is o-on I want to vote for” vote.

First some context – at the time of writing 70 or so out of 650 seats still to declare and this (from Brave browser search– Bing has nothing on turnout).

“According to the search results, the turnout for the 2024 UK general election is expected to be lower than in previous elections. In the 1997 general election, the Labour Party won a landslide victory with a turnout of 71.4%. In the 2024 election, the turnout is expected to be lower, with some sources predicting a turnout of around 59%, which is the lowest since the right to vote was extended in 1918.”

We will get the final numbers in a few hours – so far, Labour has only just managed to maintain its 35% share of the overall vote – largely because if its success in Scotland, where the ruling Scottish National Party vote collapsed and was picked up by Labour. The Scots have always disliked the Tories!

Out of interest, Labour leader Keir Starmer won his seat, but his majority was slashed by 10,000.

This means that 2/3 of the electorate did NOT vote for the Labour party.

The headlines will blare about a “Labour landslide” – but this is all about apathy. No political party had a winning manifesto – least of all Labour,

S, elections have consequences. We will now see a bunch of Labour morons, thinking they are the “bees knees”, when the majority of people did not vote for them.

Igel Farage’s Reform party might get 13 seats (4 so far) and will join the other irrelevant parties like the Greens, the Liberal democrats and the Scottish National Party.

Labour will enact policies that tax and spend hundreds of billions of pounds on its useless policies around climate change, welfare spending and the building of 1.5 million homes (mostly for illegal immigrants).

A disaster for the UK, but a predictable one – Labour is heading 300 more seats than the outgoing Conservative government.

I wonder how long it will be before the UK voting public is entirely sickened by the clear lack of quality of the incoming government and its ruinous “woke” policies.
