So why doesn't it surprise me that they would want to cut expenses in areas that cost the most. the covid crisis hasn't provided culling of the weak and elderly. they have had the laws in place to provide the ending of ones life at your choice. it takes only a small modification of the law that gives government control over your life. you are now a commodity. the provider of taxes for government. in short terms a slave. Our healthcare system warehouses (mostly) non-living people for years, even decades. Kept alive is terrible conditions because some business is making $10,000 a month. They have no quality of life. If given a choice, why can't they decide to "leave." Society pays millions to prolong a miserable exisitence. Someone allowed to decay for 10-15 years, at a cost of more than $1 million to society, might reasonably choose to accept $100-$200,000 for his family and be able to define their departure. I'm not suggesting this is all economic - it is humane and economic. As long as no one is forced into anything.

No one should be forced. We already have DNR orders. Why couldn't we have people decide, before it occurs, that they do not want to live with a damaged quality of life - their terms. There are reasons that many wouldn't want a very uncomfortable life extended.
I was a therapist who spent many years working in programs to help addictions/alcoholics overcome their addiction and become clean and sober citizens who became good parents and functional members of society. There is treatment for this. All I can think of are the truly wonderful people who overcame their addiction and became really good people once they got straightened out. I have also dealt with my own addiction to alcohol and will soon have 13 yrs sobriety - this after I relapsed from 15 yrs sobriety. This hurts to the very core of my being. When I think of all the govt has done to create addicts and alcoholics, and now they are wanting to murder them, I have no words. Then there are the people with mental disorders, some as simple as depression. Depressives don't hurt others because they don't have enough energy to. This is insanity on steroids. Please pray for the souls of these people who deserve a chance, not a death sentence.

Frank - huge CONGRATULATIONS on 3 weeks sober!! That's huge! It's also the hardest part IMO. If you can do 3 weeks, you can do 3 months, then 3 years etc. I hope you have a support group, it helps tremendously. And yes, freedom to speak about these horrible atrocities is extremely important because if you can vent about things, it will help to keep you from drinking/using. Sending you good wishes and prayers for a successful journey, sir!
I think they've been doing if for hundreds of years if not thousands. I suspect all my child's grandparents now dead (one still alive) were 'offed' by the State.
