The atmospheric effects for which can last years if not decades. (Hunga Tonga effects hav e a few more years to go yet).

My oldest neighbor had a big tank for gas and I think another one for oil ? I think. My neighbor cross the street helped with gas he works for the natural gas company.

Mmm, you may have crossed 2 different concepts. The trees were to be chopped and buried to keep their CO2 in the ground. The windmills were to power electricity generation!
