From here: Now American Troops Are Going Into Peru. What in the hell? - Whatfinger Daily “Why are we going into Peru now? The Corporations demand it… Why isn’t US media covering the coup in Peru? Biden installed a CIA veteran as ambassador and is now sending US troops to the nation. Coup, CIA, US troops?!? This is a huge story and yet nada in the MSM.”
The U.S. military acts as the enforcement arm of global transnational corporations. The money ultimately accrues to the unidentified and unlisted Vanguard Board of Directors. The U.S. military never acts in defense of the United States. They are the paid thugs who protect the natural resources wanted and desired by those controlling the financial pursestrings. This 9-minute video is brilliant and relates everything anyone needs to know. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkjbrnX8rl8
Remember the U.S. military chased "radical Islamists" into Syria in a grand free-for-all many years ago and NEVER left. The U.S. military is protecting the illegal extraction of oil from Syria's richest and most fruitful oil fields in the NE part of their country. This oil belongs to the Syrian people and Syria and not Conoco who extracts/markets this oil. Ever tried to track how the oil is shipped? Who profits? Who owns the facilities? You'll never find out, but I'm willing to bet someone who sits on Vanguard's BOD knows.
Ok, I know the US has a nasty habit of overthrowing elected governments in Latin America.
But this is Peru. They've thrown out like, their last eight presidentes. It's a habit with them. They'll probably work it out and have another election, eventually... but given their history, "unelected" usually just means-- whoever was appointed by congress to run things until the next election. It doesn't necessarily mean illegitimate puppet govt installed by the CIA.
We'll see. It is odd to find no coverage, particularly if the US did it in response to the protests. But I also wouldn't call Boluarte unelected-- she was the VP until they tossed out Castillo. It doesn't seem totally out of bounds for them to request outside help with civil unrest, though-- they've got a pretty gnarly history with that, and I don't think anybody wants to see a Shining Path revival.
I know, I know, sources in MSM are crap. But I also checked Al Jazeera and El Comerico (newspaper of record in Lima-- still a state organ but more likely to report on it than any US outlet). Do you have the Mexico or Brazil sources on that? I've lived in Peru, but not those others, so I'm less familiar with their media.
....will keep poking around Spanish-language media, and see if anything turns up, because if true, this is a thing I care about. But so far, nothing? Just diplomatic issues with Mexico and Brazil since the most recent ouster... and that's not surprising since two previous presidentes got kicked out for corruption involving some Brazilian corporation.
But I thought this was a glorious American Tradition; you know, Mexico, Philippines, Korea, Vietnam ,Argentina, Chile, Panama, Iraq, Afghanistan, Ukraine, Australia in 1975... 60 sovereign nations since WWII. Same ol' same ol'. Peru will make 61 countries thus invaded; their resources confiscated, and their people reduced to slavery.
Sigh, I understand this so well, especially as I am currently protesting against the missile launching pad a few miles from where I write, operated by Ratheon and LockheedMartin, and the twelveth US military instalation to dominate our remote Northern Territory of Australia. But I must protest quietly because the Marines Corp has lots of Abram tanks in a warehouse ready to silence The Inconvenient.
I suppose you are wondering why I should protest against the Freedom & Democracy thus bestowed on me. I am a little picky, I guess, but its just that US missiles are obsolete and the Russians and Chinese are a full generation ahead; which means that when the Pentagon enacts the 2015 Rand Report recommendation and positions to attack China, the missile site will be obliterated and with it, solid fuel and warheads will be vaporised, to then drift over Arnhem Land killing around 14,000 Australians with chlorine gas and heavy metals.
The same armada of missiles will vaporise Darwin causing the giant Inpex gas tank to explode and level a radius of 20-something miles. That will wipe out another part of my family, five grandchildren lost thus far.
Actually, it seems to me the people of Peru are getting off lightly. Their Freedom & Democracy will be a whole lot less lethal than ours.
If the US wants lithium out of Peru, it'll have to fight China for it-- China has been cultivating close ties for over a decade now, to maintain access to mineral resources.
Well new government, US troops, no Chinese helping old government. On the other hand, who is to say Biden is not helping China as the US did in Afghanistan.

Call in General Smedley Butler, United Fruit is having a “problem” on one of their banana plantations.

Do you have any less biased sources?
like these?

https://www.nytimes.com/2023/03/16/world/americas/peru-protests-police.html
the point was there was no MSM coverage of the despatch of up to 700 troops per neighbouring country claims from brazil and mexico.
perhaps they are getting more nervous about US invasions of these two countries - no smoke without fire, right?

So far this is all I'm seeing:

Sounds like a plan.
I doubt any source is unbiased anywhere in the world - (including me! )

Hopefully, the people have organized resistance to throw the US invaders out. Otherwise, the Chinese overlords will be running things in the future.
Lithium. Peru has lithium. And so did Afghanistan. And Peru has had U.S. troops visit and rotate in and out with no base.

Never thought Peru would be on the dance card.
Bet Victoria Nuland showed up first.
