Wow! The SubStack invitation to participate breaks 7 million bucks!
The initial request was for just 2 million bucks, right? Is there going to be a party or an annual celebration/convention for SubStackers?

Speaking of which, I would like to thank all my (dozens!) of paid subscribers and hundreds of coffee buyers.
It is a reality faced by all those providing free content – like CFP, Whatfinger, Expose-news and Gateway pundit – that, although I have garnered millions of page views (billions in the case of those mega news aggregator sites) since I launched last August, almost everyone, understandably, does not seek, or cannot, contribute to continued effort and quality.
I confess to feeling like the busker in the subway that attracts an audience that listens for half an hour during the course of their busy days, but who leaves without throwing any change in the preferred cap!
I stress that I do not need the money – “I will survive” and all that, but, well, yanno, it is always great to be appreciated and acknowledged.
All the best and thanks again to those that have supported me and to others, for at least reading what I publish.

Think of it this way: those with big followings have usually been on substack for much longer than you and many have advantage of being known media personalities and probably have a team helping them produce output. Substack should be shining a light on people like you with both literary and mathematical skills, capable of in-depth statistical analysis and presenting your findings in a readable and thought-provoking way. I don't know how they could go about that but they should.
That's really great though I do wonder what this funding money will be allocated for. I've been in gratitude for Substack and the ability for people to view my content. But it is hard to make a living!
