Thanks PH. Personally I'd prefer to keep substack the way it is. Paid subscribers & free for subscribers, who can't afford to pay. (That's me & I'm sure the same for may other pensioners.)
The monetisation model of twitter etc is proven to be open to abuses.
We're in an unwanted, uninvited war for our very existence, liberty and future. Millions have died and millions more were deprived of incomes from mandates, had their lives turned inside out by relentless political, medical, and corporate thugs. And all the while in the background, the malevolent dystopian assault continues to advance and unfold, stealing $billions in the process.
So I'll stick with altruism, simply trying to awaken or sensitize while we still can. I'll also adhere to the principle of liberty, so people are abundantly free to choose their commercial destinies.
Nevertheless, as time passes, the "influencers" may well find themselves existing at the pleasure of the authorities and CBDC? There seems a certain inevitability to being subtly co-opted, being seen in the smae light that we consider the MSM today? Or perhaps push-back influencers will find that they have their future social credit scores inconveniently 'adjusted'?
And there seems little to be said for the ill-gotten gains of war?
I read nearly all of your artcles, & share them with others. At this time in my life, (retired on limited income) if I had to pay even $1 for each item I read online everyday, it would not be possible to keep informed. Obviously, you need to have an income stream, I hope you find products you can have confidence in & produce well for your substack. Thank you for all you're doing.
If someone is writing good content and earning revenue from subscribers who are interested in that content, and they then become a shill for products and their revenue source shifts, then that’s grounds for dropping them, as they are risking becoming incentivized and beholden to the corporate propaganda, rather than to their readers. Such influencers should disclose their percent revenue from corporate spurces vs readers so that readers can decide whether they can still trust the content. Corporate sponsorship is not the Substack business model.
I dunno 🤷♀️, what ever happened to helping out your fellow man out of the goodness of your heart?
I follow quite a few on Substack yet, live on a very limited income and am extremely grateful for what our writers post. But, when all is said and done I would never be able to afford it.
And in today’s economy I have a feeling I am not alone.
I do a ton of reading and research and pass what I have learned along to others, for me it’s not about money, it’s about helping others.
I believe this is what God intended from the beginning, for us to take care of and help one another.
The joy you receive from helping others is for me priceless.
The substack model and its appeal is subscription-based income for writers without the bias and corruption that can come from corporate sponsorship. Corporate funding of discourse leads to corporate control of discourse.
I'm all ears. This dispatch influenced me! You can pick your products to push. I've always thought if I was a PGA golf star I wouldn't have 20 logos on my hats, shirts and golf bag - that would be over-kill (kind of like a NASCAR team). However, I would certainly listen to all my proposals. If I got one from a company or product I actually liked and believed in - and this company was going to pay me enough to get my second or third house - I'd consider it.
More seriously, Substackers need income ... if we are going to be able to keep doing what we are doing.

Nice. I'll never be anywhere near that. But it is helpful for the popular.

Just my 2 cents.
I'd much rather Substackers didn't take the shilling! Or is it 30 pieces of silver?
