After Epstein and Robertson revealed the sordid machinations of the Goolag, it was clearly way past time to leave. Why anyone allows themselves to be privy to "free" services in which they are the product seems an important lesson from which most have yet to wake-up?

'The search engine manipulation effect (SEME) and its possible impact on the outcomes of elections'. Robert Epstein and Ronald E. Robertson PNAS | August 4, 2015

«[D]emocracy is on the ballot,» they say. I think I've heard that somewhere already.

...and just like that, my skepticism of Proton grew to a prohibitive level.

It’s been a slogan of one specific political party since, well, Obama. And said party is certainly not neutral to the affairs of other countries.

I have a protonmail account but it wouldn't let me sign in for the longest time (I'd forgotten the password) so I couldn't access it. Now I found my way back to it, but it's a backup system for me. Perhaps I should play around with the features I've had proton VPN before too. That said I doubt any system of communication on the internet is safe from spying. Some are more likely to openly sell your data to the highest bidder though...

Be sure your machine is encrypted as well - 4096 bit with a VERY long password is your best bet. Stop them? No, but slow them down, definitely... It is also a matter of the value of the data you use and commonly send. They are not about to focus on small accounts that do not have much influence and/or leverage...

Proton mail also threw an American citizen under the bus to the DOJ.

Man threatened Fauci and Proton mail had no problem turning him in.

So much for Swiss neutrality.

They could have just told the DOJ to pound sand.

Not good to threaten murderous thugs* who killed & injured millions around the world. God will sort them out, no doubt about it. If they* were half as clever as they think, govt thugs everywhere would be searching out a place to repent before God calls time.

Yeah...so many people think Proton Mail is the be all and end all.

I am starting to think it is an intelligence operation.

Proton Mail had no requirement to turn over the identity of one of their users to the US Justice Dept.
