Good news for 278 of LA’s around 47,000 homeless – bad news for everyone else – more debt and taxes. LA spends a million a year in its homeless – around 21,000 bucks each (declared costs anyway). The solution here costs around 11.5 million a year for 278 people = around 40,000 bucks a year – GENIUS!!!!
I would bet large that if you went back after this building was completed, you would notice a disproportionate amount of young women as residents. Sex for favours is standard in socialist society.
Exactly as in history, most recently Venezuela, “kindness “ is used to steal public money. The end is always the same - economic collapse. Imagine how it feels to be a USA veteran being turned down for a new wheelchair as he struggles past this monstrosity. I was in the room, 20 years ago, when a man demanded $5000 for my disabled friend to get access to subsidized housing. These projects are erosive to society.
Homelessness is rarely caused by lack of a housing unit. It can be mental illness, addictions, lack of friends and family, lack of employable skills. temporary bad luck, medical problems.
Are these 278 units intended for short term stays and so high turnover?

Los Angeles County spends in excess of $1 billion per year on its homeless. LA County counted 75,518 homeless in 2023.

Obviously the cost sounds ridiculously high!
Well of course Peter! Like all other government programs, the illegals issue is just another way for the evil bastards to steal our money.
