and the wind turbines. fun fact, hydrocarbon (fossil) fuels are kept om standby in case the wind doesn't blow or the sun doesn't shine - 24x7 standby for those fossil fuel generators of electricity- flaring off unused energy. (they have to be kept powered up as they take a while to restart) - also, wind turbines need lots of lubricating oil to prevent them seizing up!
