There is no law forbidding "gender" discrimination. Civil rights law protects against sex discrimination NOT gender discrimination. Gender is a term that does not apply to humans. It is a taxonomic term of classification of nouns in IndoEuropean languages. There are 3 genders, masculine (adjective meaning like a male), feminine (an adjective meaning like a female) and neuter. Sex is an anatomical description of humans, male (a noun) and female (a noun). The word gender was adopted in the 1950s or 60s by psychologists to describe a man who dressed and lived as a female and visa versa. Gender is psychiatric and is not measurable and not constant. Sex is physical, observable and does not change with one's mental state. A legal case of gender discrimination was brought in Michigan when a man who worked at a morturary came to work dresses as a woman and was fired. He brought a Civil Rights case of Gender Discrimination and it was ruled that the Civil Rights Act protects against Sex Discrimination and NOT gender discrimination.
