My wife had this over ten years ago. She did have a scan before to check for fibroids and she has had no problems since. Before however the only answer for crazy bleeding was the marina coil which did cause many problems. She was not offered this procedure either, she had to ask for it, the surgeon used to live next to my sister in law. Just her experience of course, but I'm told overall a positive one, but let's face it, it is basically microwaving your insides so who knows truly if it is a good idea when another way might have been easier, but there was nothing. Feminism failed women with bleeding issues big time.

PH WOW. What an exposure of the evil & truly wicked price gouging, underhand practice of making patients atms. Money grabbing over medical ethics. Amoral in the extreme.

I had normal periods until I was about 45, when I began having really heavy periods, so much so that I rarely had a day when I wasn't bleeding. It was awful. We were living in LA at the time and Kaiser Permanente would not give me a hysterectomy. They said that was "Step D" and was a "serious surgery," so I needed to jump through their hoops before they would recommend it. They put me on a pill, and it got worse. I stopped taking it and asked for a hysterectomy. I do not want to have any more children, so I didn't see why they could not just remove the source of my problem. Nope. They put in the Mirena IUD and a month later, I received a bill for $1800. My periods got worse. They recommended an endometrial ablation but could not guarantee that it would solve my problem, so I didn't want to do it. Again I asked for a hysterectomy and was told no. Then, thankfully, we moved to Tennessee. In TN, I saw an OB/GYN once, who referred me to a surgeon. After I explained my history and all that KP had put me through, the surgeon said that a hysterectomy is the ONLY thing that could fix the problems caused by my uterine fibroids. She said any OB/GYN should know this, and they also would have known that none of their "steps" were ever going to work. BUT, rather than help me, they chose to make money on all of their useless procedures, while I suffered, for years. Thank God for an honest surgeon in TN. One more reason I'm glad we escaped CA.

Yes, problem solved. Thanks! My heart goes out to the woman whose info you shared. It sounds like she got the same advice I got. Awful. Hope she's ok.

What a mess. Vaccination status could be relevant due to the relationship between low iron and the vaccine. So who knows, it may or may not be related to the vaccine ....but in this world NOTHING negative is ever admitted as linked to the vaccine despite any evidence to the contrary. Explore any/or all other causes :)

I too have no formal expertise other than being female, of around that age, and so I "hear things" from my female friends who are also around this age.

Recently (past couple of weeks) I have been very disturbed to learn that two women close to me (I heard it directly from them), who are both vaccinated and post-menopausal, they have been bleeding heavily and who both have a history of fibroids, have both been recommended to have this procedure; neither have yet had it (they are both in the diagnostic phase but this procedure is being pushed as being the solution to their post-menopausal bleeding issues).

I am scared for them. Again, this surgery is being sold as "no big deal" and "we'll just clean you out really well." I'm scared that their COVID shots have caused this, and I'm scared that they are going to suffer as a result of this surgery, if they opt to do it.

I wonder how many women are being pushed in this direction as a possible outcome of their having taken those awful shots. Can't prove it -- just a feeling.

Thanks for this. It is beginning to look like women are being targeted in a money making scheme.

It sounds like a barbaric surgery, too. These COVID shots are such a wild card, but for decades women have been pushed to undergo hysterectomies not necessary; but going through menopause can be difficult for some.... and the unpleasant symptoms will frequently resolve. Of course, each case is different, but elective organ removal..... and burning the uterine lining off.... doesn't sound like a good bandwagon to jump on without fully informed consent.

And I agree, a money-making scheme.
