That's just mean.

The LEDs hurt my eyes anyway, bright or dim. Just found a local place where I can buy incandescents for $2.50 apiece. No, I will not tell you where. But the lighting in my house is so much more pleasant now.

LED's don't even last that long. I bought boxes of the of incandescent bulbs. They were on clearance for 75% off and I bought them. No one else was buying them.

The first story at Brownstone right now is on the madness of the “banning craze.” Highly recommended article.

In another vent on this topic, I noted that many independent bookstores banned the No. 1 best-seller in the world, “The Real Anthony Fauci.”

Thank you for this, Peter. Of all the mandates telling me what I can and can't do - or what products I can and can't buy - the lightbulb regs make my blood boil more than anything.

I don't care what the experts say: The new mandated bulbs we HAVE to buy don't produce as much light - and they are 10X as expensive as the old bulbs that I was perfectly happy with. Also, they don't last as long as the experts say.

Oh, and there's this: The planet isn't at any risk.

I wrote a vent column on this several months ago. My starting point was the gas stove ban - but I mentioned the lightbulb regs - also the reg that we have to have ethanol in our gasoline for some stupid reason ... to benefit Big Corn.

Thanks for a heads up. I checked out Amazon for incandescent light bulbs and found a bunch so I'm stocking up. Here's the link (bulbs are labeled either incandescent or LED) - https://amzn.to/4baTsYd

When they started banning the light bulbs about six years ago, I stocked up on the 100-watt old-fashioned bulbs. Alas, I didn't buy nearly enough. I would be rich today if I'd stocked my entire garage with these bulbs and sold them on the black market.

tell you something I would really love to "see," though: the banning of the super-bright headlights on cars these days. They are unnecessary and blinding to oncoming traffic. The older, less bright lights were adequate and safer, all around. No, this does not have to do with where the lights are aimed (I've heard this argument, and it's incorrect). I've been around enough years to have experienced the older lights, yes even on trucks and high profile vehicles oncoming, and the newer, bright lights are the problem.
